But interestingly, their friends had often joked that something like this could happen. The reason? Kyle comes from a mixed-race family.
And in the end, those playful guesses turned out to be true. After the twins were born, one of the girls, Mila, began to develop darker skin, while the other, Anaya, stayed fair. The explanation is simple: although they’re twins, they’re not identical — so one inherited more of their dad’s genes, while the other got more from their mom.
