Aside from prompting praise for her appearance at the Elle Women in Hollywood event, Melanie Griffith shared a reunion moment with three of her “Now and Then” co-stars, one of whom was honored at the gala.

For the star-studded affair, where Griffith posed alongside fellow industry heavy hitters Rosie O’Donnell and Rita Wilson, Griffith donned an elegant, figure-hugging black dress that featured a polo neck collar and slits on each side.

While O’Donnell sported a simple blazer, a black top, pants, and spectacles, Wilson shone bright in a sparkly off-the-shoulder gown and closed-toe heels. She accessorized with silver jewelry and carried a clutch bag.

An interviewer asked the ladies whether or not they think the entertainment industry has changed, and if so, what about it. Responding with a playfully cheeky remark and a laugh, Griffith answered, “Wow, I think it’s gotten a lot tackier.”

Another marveled, “Melanie looks amazing!” while someone else penned, “Melanie looks like her Mother [sic] here.” An admirer gushed, “Melanie looks fantastic!!”
A Facebooker observed, “great [sic] improvements in facelifts.,” and a clarification soon followed, “I didn’t think her first facelift was flattering but this one is great. There’s definitely a new surgeon in town. No more fillers just full on lifts [sic]. I think she’s in her 60s.”

“Melanie Griffith looks so much better now, a derp plane facelift looks so much more nstural than tons of fillers [sic],” added an Instagrammer.
Far from denying getting enhancement work done, Melanie Griffith has been forthright and honest about her past use of cosmetic procedures and the transformation her appearance underwent as a result.

Initially pleased with the results, her perspective shifted dramatically after receiving negative comments about her altered appearance. This prompted her to take action and begin dissolving the fillers.
“I never would have known this was Melanie Griffith. She’s beautiful but unrecognizable. Sad,” one person tweeted. Another shared, “Melanie Griffith has had that level of plastic surgery that renders one unrecognizable as who they once were.”

Seven years ago (2017), Griffith revealed, “About seven years ago I started doing injections, and now for the past two, three years, I have been getting it dissolved […] I didn’t see it until people started saying, ‘Oh my God, what has she done?’ I was so hurt […].”

Alongside her journey to undo regrettable cosmetic procedures, Griffith has also become an advocate for sun safety. In 2018, she took to Instagram to share a bare-faced selfie with a bandage on her nose, a result of treatment for basal cell skin cancer.
“Bandaged again after having dermabrasion, the final step to fix the now removed basil cell skin cancer. If any of you have it, get it fixed. If you lay in the sun, are exposed to lots of sun, be CAREFUL,” Griffith urged in her caption.
“Use sunscreen. Get checked out by your dermatologist. If you don’t have one, get one, or go to your nearest clinic and ask to be tested for it. More info to come,” she continued.
