Brad Pitt received an unpleasant “public slap in the face.” This is how he perceived Angelina Jolie’s appearance on the red carpet with his youngest son, 16-year-old Knox. Prior to this, Knox had remained Brad’s last, albeit possibly illusory, hope, as the other five biological and adopted children he once raised with his then-wife Angelina had already distanced themselves from him in one way or another.
Now, by appearing with Knox, confidently walking alongside him and holding his arm, Jolie showed everyone, including Brad, that even the youngest son was on her side. The actor also concluded that this was Angelina’s way of getting back at him for his recent legal victory. As previously reported, the judge sided with Brad in his legal battle with Jolie over the Château Miraval estate.
By bringing Knox with her to the Governor Awards ceremony, Jolie clearly seemed pleased. However, the young man appeared somewhat confused, as though not fully understanding why he was there. Still, Jolie seemed very proud of how Knox looked. He had already grown taller than his mother, and although it had once seemed he resembled his father, the young man now looked very much like Angelina. This is unlikely to have pleased Brad, who has every reason to feel less than warm toward his ex-wife.
As a reminder, three of Brad’s six children have recently publicly expressed their feelings about him. 19-year-old Zahara, when joining a college sorority last year, announced that her last name was now simply Jolie, no longer Jolie-Pitt. She was followed by Shiloh, who, upon turning 18, filed for an official name change, also removing her father’s surname. Brad took this especially hard, as Shiloh had always been his favorite daughter. Then Vivienne, Knox’s twin sister, made the same decision. While assisting her mother with the Broadway production of Outcasts, the young woman insisted on being listed as Vivienne Jolie on the poster. As for the two older children, 23-year-old Maddox and 19-year-old Pax, they had long made it clear they wanted nothing to do with Brad and did not consider him their father.
