At the Pearly Gates, three Italian nuns arrived together after long, faithful lives. St. Peter smiled as he checked his list.
“Sisters,” he said, “you lived good, humble lives. As a reward, Heaven will let you return to Earth for six months as anyone you want, doing anything you choose—just for fun.”
The nuns gasped.
The first stepped forward eagerly. “I would-a like to be Taylor Swift.” Poof! Gone—probably on tour already.
The second smiled confidently. “I want-a to be Madonna.” Poof! Also gone, reinventing herself somewhere.
St. Peter turned to the third nun, who stood calmly with a knowing smile.
“And you, sister?”
“I want-a to be Alberto Pipalini.”
St. Peter frowned. He checked his records. “I don’t recognize that name. Is he famous?”
The nun gently produced a newspaper clipping. The headline read:
‘Local Man Alberto Pipalini Named Happiest Person Alive.’
The article explained that Alberto lived a simple life—ran a small business, laughed often, helped neighbors, and never chased fame or money.
St. Peter burst out laughing. “After everything I’ve seen up here,” he said, “that might be the wisest choice of all.”
Poof! The third nun disappeared.
St. Peter made a note for Heaven’s records:
True happiness isn’t about fame—it’s about choosing joy.
Sometimes the miracle isn’t becoming someone famous…
It’s becoming someone content.
