18-year-old Chris, a market vendor, noticed a well-groomed Shiba Inu named Ollie lingering by a closed bike shop. Curious why the dog stole his lunch only to run off, he followed him after a stolen sandwich one day. Ollie led Chris to an abandoned house on the edge of town, where he’d been delivering food to a trapped, starving German Shepherd named Max inside.
Chris called the police, who rescued Max and discovered the bike shop owner—Ollie and Max’s owner—dead inside the property. Moved by the dogs’ plight, Chris arranged to adopt them. Back home, his girlfriend Mila was initially furious at the new dog. But when Ollie gently offered his paw and Chris told the rescue story, Mila’s heart melted.
