Prince William’s ‘savage response’ to Harry’s public plea to reunite is raising eyebrows

Prince Harry has opened up to reconciling with his brother, Prince William, in a major development for the royals. So how will William respond to the estranged prince’s plea? According to an expert, the response will be brutal.

Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, haven’t spoken for years. What was seen as a ‘betralya’ from the Royal family’s point of view, when Harry left the Firm and lashed out with all sorts of claims against them, was seen very differently from the estranged prince’s side.

Still, no matter what, it marked the beginning of an ice-cold relationship between Princess Diana and King Charles’ sons.

As Harry and Meghan moved back to the UK, many believed it was perhaps the start of a brighter future between Harry and William, as well as between their respective families. Not least with regard to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who have three cousins in Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, they haven’t, or barely, met.

But for now, a reunion seems far away. Prince Harry and Meghan’s return was accompanied by a letter from King Charles, making it clear they were not welcomed back to the Royal Family, nor allowed to use their royal titles.

Later, reports suggested that Prince William was behind the letter, with the future king clearly not wanting anything to do with his brother and sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.

Still, last week, Harry and Meghan stepped out in what was some sort of “royal outing.”

Prince Harry’s first outing after UK return was “the final straw” for Prince William

The couple made several stops in Nottingham, and for many, the visit may have looked like an official royal engagement. According to reports, this is what angered Prince William, who reportedly viewed the outing as a betrayal of King Charles.

According to Express, citing a source who spoke to New Idea, the Prince of Wales was furious at the couple’s actions.

“William could not believe what he was seeing. It was the final straw for him, it couldn’t have looked more like an official royal duty if it tried,” the source claimed. “It was as if they’d totally ignored Charles’ letter. William is furious about it.”

King Charles is said to have given his sons a deadline to make amends. Now, Prince Harry has lifted the lid, saying he’s open to reconciliation.

Prince Harry makes public plea in hopes of reconciling with his brother and father

In a brand-new interview with GQ, the Duke said he wants to repair his relationships with both William and his father.

“Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile – that’s the key point,” Prince Harry told GQ,

“Scars stick around forever. But what your perception is, and what your mindset is to those things that have happened, letting go of the past, that’s something that I would encourage everybody to do.”

He added, “Sibling disagreements, broken relationships between kids and their parents, kids and one parent. That continues to come up with me the whole time with people that I speak to,” he said.

The Royal Family were on duty in Windsor, where they welcomed the Sultan of Oman when the article was published. A spokesperson for the Sussexes told the BBC that the interview was recorded in September, and that they didn’t have any power over when it would be published.

Prince William to issue ‘brutal response’ to Harry, expert claims

The spokesman also said the reference to “some people don’t want it to work out” was not a swipe at his brother, Prince William, or any other member of his family.

Prince William is said not to have had any interest in reuniting with his brother, now or in the future. So how will he respond to Harry’s invite this time? According to royal expert Tom Sykes, the future king will respond in the most brutal way: With silence.

“Will William respond? I would be astonished if he responded publicly,” Sykes told PageSix. “He never does, and his silence is itself the response.”

The expert added that the interview “won’t change” anything for William, although Sykes admitted that it will “frustrate” him.

“Being lectured in public about reconciliation by the person who has caused the problem is exactly what William finds so hard to forgive,” he went on to explain. “Putting the onus on him through the pages of a magazine is not how you repair a relationship.”
