Jim Geoghan, the prolific television writer and producer who co-created the popular Disney Channel comedy The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, has died. He was 79.
Geoghan died in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 6. His daughter, Genevieve Geoghan, confirmed his death. A cause of death was not publicly announced. (people.com)
Creator of a Disney Channel Favorite
Geoghan achieved widespread recognition in 2005 when he and Danny Kallis created The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
The Disney Channel sitcom starred twin brothers Dylan and Cole Sprouse as Zack and Cody Martin, who lived with their mother at Boston’s luxurious Tipton Hotel. Its cast also included Ashley Tisdale, Brenda Song, Phill Lewis and Kim Rhodes.
The series became one of Disney Channel’s defining shows of the 2000s and ran for three seasons before concluding in 2008. Geoghan received two Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Children’s Program category for his work on the show.
