When my son Matthew introduced me to Wendy, I immediately noticed something missing—she showed no interest in Alex, Matthew’s five-year-old son from his first marriage. After Alex’s mother passed away, I helped raise him, and he remained a gentle, loving child who desperately wanted to belong.
