I Married a Homeless Man to Spite My Parents – A Month Later, I Came Home and Froze in Shock at What I Saw

My parents gave me an ultimatum: get married before my 35th birthday or lose my inheritance.

I was furious.

So when I saw a homeless man named Stan sitting on the sidewalk, I came up with a ridiculous plan.

I offered to marry him.

It would be a marriage of convenience. I’d give him food, clothes, a home, and some money. In return, he’d pretend to be my husband.

To my surprise, he agreed.

A month later, we were married.

Living with Stan was easier than I expected. He was funny, intelligent, kind, and helpful—but he refused to talk about his past.

Then one evening, I came home to find our living room covered in roses.

Stan stood there in an expensive tuxedo holding a diamond ring.

He told me he had fallen in love with me and wanted our marriage to become real.

Then came the bigger shock.

Stan wasn’t actually poor.

He had once owned a successful company, but his brothers had allegedly forged documents, taken control of his business, and left him with nothing.

After meeting me, he found lawyers and began fighting to recover his life.

“I fell for you because you were kind when you thought I had nothing,” he said.

I didn’t give him an immediate yes.

I asked him to propose again in six months.

But I kept the ring.
