Her real name is Demi Jean Gaines and she was born on November 11, 1962.
Her parents separated and her mother remarried, which led to frequent moves. Since childhood, Demi often had health problems, she had eye surgeries and kidney disease.
At 15, she left her dysfunctional family to pursue modeling and acting, marrying musician Freddy Moore. Her breakthrough came in 1985 with the release of St. Elmo’s Fire, and she later starred in hits such as Ghost.
The marriage with Freddie fell apart, but in 1987 she married Bruce Willis, with whom she had three daughters.
Demi had a difficult relationship with her mother, who struggled with alcoholism. Her memoir, Inside Out: My Imperfect Story, details her difficult childhood. Demi cared for her mother, who attempted suicide, and they reconciled before her death in 1998.
Despite the challenges, Demi is now closer to her children than ever, forming a single blended family with Bruce Willis. Do you like this star?
