I Refuse To Spend My Savings To Rescue My Sister’s Children—My Money Is Not A Family Fund

I’m 35, childless, and I’ve spent years saving for my dream home. My sister, 33, has four kids and lives paycheck to paycheck with no savings.

When her 2-year-old twins needed expensive emergency treatment, she begged me for money. I said no—I explained I couldn’t sacrifice everything I worked for.

The next morning, she posted on Facebook accusing me of choosing money over her children, tagging family and even my coworkers. Suddenly, I was being called selfish and heartless.

Now my entire family is divided… and I’m left asking:

Am I wrong for protecting my future, or expected to fix a situation I didn’t create?
