Graham Cracker’s incredible journey started when a little girl in Arkansas said yes.
The little girl’s name is Autumn, and when she found a mama dog and her puppies in the middle of the woods, huddling together under a pile of branches, she knew she had to help. She began sneaking food out to the mama dog, doing whatever she could, and when her mom discovered what was going on, she immediately contacted Jak’s Second Chance Rescue Ranch for help.
“The rescue team said YES and braved a four-wheeler trail to reach the family — Mom and her puppies, covered in debris and hidden away, terrified and hungry,” Maggie Schmitz, director of marketing at The Bond Between, told The Dodo. “They named the mama dog after Autumn.”
Not long after they were rescued, the little family was taken in by The Bond Between, who began looking for foster homes for each family member. Graham found his pretty quickly — but then the rescue got a call they hadn’t expected.
Superstar singer P!nk reached out to the rescue wanting to foster Graham after falling in love with his picture on their website, and just like that, his life changed forever.
“From a pile of fallen branches to backstage with a P!NK, Graham is now getting the love and care he deserves, all while P!NK helps us spread the powerful message of fostering and adopting,” Schmitz said.
P!nk is hoping to find Graham a home while she’s on tour — unless she and her family decide to foster fail, of course.
Graham’s story of rags to riches is pretty incredible, and it all happened because a bunch of people decided to say yes.
“It started with Autumn, the little girl who said yes to helping a stray dog,” Schmitz said. “Jak’s Rescue said yes to pulling them out of the woods. We said yes to taking them into our care and finding them homes. A local foster here said yes to caring for Graham and his sibling. And now P!NK said yes to giving him the love he needs until he finds his forever family. Now we’re waiting for Graham’s last YES — the moment his forever home says yes to him. This beautiful story shows us that every ‘yes’ along the way makes a difference, no matter how small.”
