Why do you think she ran to the bank?

A fourth-grade teacher was giving her pupils a lesson in logic.

“Here is the situation,” she said. “A man is standing up in a boat in the middle of a river, fishing. He loses his balance, falls in, and begins splashing and yelling for help. His wife hears the commotion, knows he can’t swim, and runs down to the bank. Why do you think she ran to the bank?”

 Viral / Storytelling Version

A fourth-grade teacher decided to test her class with a lesson in logic.

She painted a picture:

A man is out fishing in the middle of a river… standing in a small boat. Suddenly, he loses his balance, falls into the water, and starts screaming for help.

His wife hears him. She knows he can’t swim… so she runs to the bank.

Then the teacher asked:

“Why do you think she ran to the bank?”

The classroom went quiet. Kids started thinking… trying to piece it together.

Finally, a little girl raised her hand confidently and said:

“To withdraw all his savings.” 😄

😂 Why It’s Funny
The trick is in the word “bank”:

The teacher meant river bank
The student thought money bank
Classic kid logic—technically correct, but completely unexpected 😄
