In a touching Facebook post, he shared that she died on February 26 after a battle with cancer. Reflecting on their first meeting, Beaver described it as a charming “meet cute” moment. He also mentioned a special coincidence—they both had daughters with the same name, spelled differently—which helped form an immediate bond. Born on August 16, 1974, in Nova Scotia, Canada, Fleming developed a love for the performing arts early in life. She studied drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and trained as a dancer with the Kidco Theatre Dance Group. Before pursuing acting full-time, she worked as a model. Her screen debut came in the 1994 television movie Viper, followed by a small, uncredited role in the 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore.

Fleming became more widely known for her portrayal of Candy in iZombie, a role she played from 2015 to 2019. The show, centered on a medical resident living as a zombie while solving crimes, allowed her to demonstrate her acting range.
